Addiction is a deadly disease, but with early intervention it is a treatable disease.
Because a person doesn't have to use drugs or drink alcohol every day to have a
problem, it's often difficult to recognize the signs of drug and alcohol addiction.
This checklist of common alcohol and drug abuse symptoms can help you identify the
signs of addiction, determine if a friend or loved one is having a problem with
addiction, and if an intervention is needed. Please remember that even if a person
shows any of the following signs and symptoms, it does not necessarily mean that
they have a drug or alcohol addiction. The presence of some of these symptoms could
relate to stress, depression or other problems which may or may not be related to
substance abuse.
The purpose of a substance abuse intervention is to help the person to recognize
the sign of addiction, take the steps necessary to address the addiction, and lead
them to the help they need. In the area of intervention, Koman Savitri Hospital
counseling and psychotherapy centre works closely specialists trained in alcohol
and drug abuse intervention. If you are planning an intervention for addiction,
please call us on our 24 hrs helpline No.
